Bryant, Josephine Marie Collins
Josephine Marie Collins (Jo) Bryant, of Pulaski, was called home on Sunday morning, December 23, 2012, peacefully in her home. Jo was born in Wythe County on June 25, 1942.
She retired from AT&T in Fairlawn in 1991. She then got her GED and also her cosmetology license. Jo then worked alongside her husband Dennis at Main Street Laundry and Uniform Inc. She enjoyed crocheting for family and tending her many flowers. She loved traveling to the Smokies with her family.
Jo was preceded in death by her father, Dick Collins. Surviving are her husband, Dennis Bryant; daughters, Teresa Harris and husband, Oscola, of Floyd, Leasa Hodge and husband, Timmy, of Roanoke, Missy Lowe and fiance, Kevin Rife, of Pulaski, Brittany Chrisley and husband, Mathew, of Pulaski; sons, Mark A. and Mark O. Bryant, of Pulaski. Also surviving are Jo’s mother, Roberta Ratcliffe Collins, of Max Meadows; Jo’s siblings, Dickie and wife, Margaret, Duke and wife, Faye, Midge Lambert and husband, George, Terry, Jim and wife, Sue, all of Max Meadows, Betty and deceased husband, John Smith, of Pulaski, Raymond and Nancy, of Barren Springs; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the ICU at the Lewis Gale Hospital, Pulaski for the care they gave Mrs. Bryant during her illness. Also, a special thanks to the hospice.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday from the Stevens Memorial Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. David Hoover officiating. Amber Harris, granddaughter, will honor Jo with special music. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the service hour.
