Lorinza (Rinzie) Brumfield, Jr., 70, of Pembroke lost his battle with cancer on April 27, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. Born July 30, 1945, he was a son of the late Lorenzo, Sr. and Martha P. Brumfield.

He is survived by his wife Melissa, the love of his life, caregiver, and best friend; three daughters whom he loved and was so proud of: Dana Robertson and husband Todd of Newport, Lisa Jones of Pearisburg, and Lynette Lowe and husband Kelly of Rich Creek; seven grandchildren whom he adored; Loren, Jadan, Kaley, Luci, Brynnn, Kelcie and Jacob; one brother, Ronnie Brumfield and wife Violet of Pembroke; and one uncle and many cousins of Louisville, Kentucky.

He was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church. He retired from Volvo Truck Corporation, having previously worked at Elmac Corporation, Fairchild Corporation, and Celanese. A skilled craftsman, he built his own home and loved working in his woodshop making beautiful furniture for his home, his family and his friends. Rinzie had many close friends, and was known for his creativity in helping others complete their projects.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 am in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 until 8 pm.
