Brumfield, Helen Bolt Carter

Helen Marie Bolt Carter Brumfield, age 76, of Blacksburg went to her heavenly home Friday, September 6, 2013 at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. She was born in Montgomery County, VA on February 20, 1937 to the late Bruce Montgomery and Mildred Reese Bolt and was also preceded in death by two husbands, James H. Carter and Bobby L. Brumfield and a sister, Edith Clyburn.

She is survived by her children, James H. Carter, Jr. (Sherry) of Radford, Joseph W. Carter (Bernadine) of Blacksburg, John E. Carter (Shannon) of Christiansburg, Linda R. Rogers of Blacksburg, Jacqueline C. Albert (Ronnie) of Radford, Tracey L. Brumfield of Blacksburg; grandchildren, Kevin Carter (Tanya), Joni Jones (Landon), Sarah Carter, Stephen Carter, Colson Carter; great grandchild, Lily Carter; brothers, Bruce W. (Buddy) Bolt, Stanley H. (Pete) Bolt both of Christiansburg; sisters, Nancy C. Brown of Marion, Diane V. Lavelle (Tommy) of Christiansburg; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends; special friends, Bonnie Barringer and Calvin Smith, Sam Jones, Patsy Jones Day.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Blacksburg Rescue, Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery ER Staff, Carol Ballard, Dr. Jolene Henshaw, Dr. Harry McCoy.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 9, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wallace Yopp and Rev. Shawn Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm Monday at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
