Brown, Peggy Hamblin

Peggy Hamblin Brown, age 78, of Blacksburg, passed to a better home, Wednesday, October 13, 2021. She was born in Radford, VA on September 15, 1943 to the late Albert C. And Carrie Lindsey Hamblin.

She grew up in Belspring, VA and was a member of the Methodist Church. After her and Bob married, she joined St. Michael Lutheran Church. Peggy retired from Virginia Tech after over 40 years of service in Veterinary Science. She was very active in the Potpourri Club, Red Hats, many knitting groups, and loved Moss Art. Peggy loved traveling, helping with various charities, cooking, but most of all, spending time with her family, grandchildren, and close friends.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert O’Neil Brown; daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa (Missy) and Bernie Piszczor, Tamara (Tammy) and Doug Veit; grandchildren, Delanie Veit, Sophia Veit, Sarah Piszczor.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Henrickson and Scott Obenchain officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, October 18, 2021 at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
