Lisa Dawn Gravley Brown, 40, of Roanoke, and formerly of Radford, Va., died suddenly on Monday, June 14, 2008, at Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem, Va.

She was born August 27, 1967, in Radford, Va., to Ed and Peggy Davis Gravley. Lisa graduated from Pulaski County High School in 1985 and from Radford University in 1990. She worked with mentally challenged adults through New River Valley Community Services Board, with Radford City Schools as a teaching aide for special needs children, with the Children’s Home Society with adoption processes, and with the Covenant Presbyterian Preschool in Roanoke.

Lisa is survived by her parents and by her husband, Paul Joseph Brown; and their four year old son, Noah Harmon Brown. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Lisa’s life was devoted to helping others and loving and caring for her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Belspring United Methodist Church conducted by Mike Duncan and Christopher Ross Donald. Burial will follow at Sunrise Burial Park.

The family will receive friends at DeVilbiss Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, July 16, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. The Brown family is being served by DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford, Va.
