Brown, Emma Harvey

Emma Jean Brown, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Born July 6, 1935, in Rock Camp, WV, she was the daughter of the late James Arnett and Lula Copeland Harvey.

Emma Jean was a member of the Peterstown Worship Center. She was an original member of the Peterstown Fire Aides. She was a homemaker who enjoyed attending craft shows and baking delicious cakes and pies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Rosa Dean Harvey; and brother, Jackie Harvey.

Survivors include her loving husband of 68 years, Bobby Ray Brown; children, Jerry “Boomer” Brown and wife Lisa of Peterstown, WV. Gene Brown and wife Teresa of Angier, NC, and Arnetta Turner and husband Jason of Peterstown, WV; grandchildren, Ashleigh Brown, Tanya Jewell and husband Eric, Taylor Brown, David Brown, and Dylan Brown; great grandchildren, Henry and Natalie Jewell; sister, Linda Miller and husband Rickey of Sissonville, WV; sister-in-law, Pat Harvey of Lindside, WV; special friends, Dave and Sandy Sheets and their family of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Matt Sauvage and Barry Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Peterstown Cemetery in Rich Creek, VA. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the funeral home.

Shannon Bowers, Jon Cody, Keith Boggess, Jeff Lilly, Greg Ballengee, and Tim Short will serve as pallbearers. David Brown, Jeff Pence, Homer Forren, Charles Moorehead, and Donald Brown will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will be gathering at the home of Jason and Arnetta Turner – 44 Crossview Estates Road, Peterstown, WV 24963.
