Brown, Dorothy Link

Dorothy Link Brown, 86, of the Bane Community, Pearisburg, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008, at the Salem Rehab Center in Salem, Va. Mrs. Brown was born on April 20, 1921 in Giles County and was a daughter of the late Harve Link and Lena Caldwell Link.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Parris S. (Jack) Brown; two brothers, Garthan and Roylence Link; and one sister, Mildred Link. Mrs. Brown was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda B. and Bill Simpson, of Roanoke; one son, James Harvey Brown and companion, Tina Bragg, of Pearisburg; one sister, Lenora Carr, of Pearisburg; four grandchildren, Michael and wife, Janette Brown, Kim and husband, Sherman Shrewsberry, Jamie and wife, Amanda Brown, and Allen Brown; and one great grandchild, Ethan Brown.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2008, at Givens Funeral Chapel, Pearisburg, with the Rev. Shahn Wilburn and the Rev. Wayne Monroe officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening, at the Givens Funeral Home. Please use the Chruch Street entrance.
