Brooks, Joyce Marie

Joyce Marie Brooks, 70 of Pearisburg, VA departed this life after a courageous battle with cancer on October 22, 2020. Joyce was born in Washington, DC on August 22, 1950. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Marion Brooks and Stella Elizabeth Sullivan Brooks and also an ex-husband, Tommy Turner.

Joyce attended Wheaton High School in Maryland. After school, she worked at Loehmann’s plaza and a drug store. She loved her inside flowers and plants. Those were her life and joy. Most of all she loved spending time with Sherry and her family that made her life.

She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Brooks of Big Stone Gap, two nieces, Gina Clementson, Elizabeth Krovich, one nephew, Rick Krovich and many friends that she thought of as her extended family, Sherry Eaton of Pembroke and son John William Eaton, daughter Chelsey Marie Eaton and daughter Adriana Marie Miller and many thanks to Connie Songer, her caregiver.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 2:00pm at the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. Online condolences can be sent to the family at givensfuneralhome.com.
