Brookman, Sherman Clayton

Sherman Clayton Brookman, 62, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Born on October 1, 1948, he was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Louise B. Sirry. Surviving are (Sissy) Dana Law Caldwell and husband Vince, Steven and Sara Caldwell, all of Catawba, and the entire Law Family. Sherman was a member of Craig Valley Gospel Fellowship. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Craig Valley Gospel Fellowship with Pastor Jay Law officiating. The family will receive visitors from noon to 2 p.m. at the church. He will be laid to rest in the Law Family Cemetery. McCoy Funeral home is handling the arrangements. “God picks special people in our lives; Sherman was one of those people. He never had earthly treasures, but he had a heart of gold. He always had a smile, and was willing to lend a helping hand. Deep in his heart, he had what most people look for their entire lives, and that is Joy from the Lord.”
