Brookman, Roy Thomas

Roy Thomas Brookman, age 86, of Belspring went to be with the Lord Friday, May 31, 2019 at his home.

He was born in Radford, Va. on October 31, 1932 to the late John Thomas and Mary Walker Brookman. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Gay Brookman, sister, Lorraine Shrewsbury.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served as a Military Policeman. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Forestry Department for many years. But above all, he was a lifelong farmer.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eva Mae Hughett Brookman, daughters, Cindy Elliott, Jeannie Sue Brookman, sons and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Kristin Brookman, Stevie Brookman, grandchildren, Tyler Vaughan, Haley Brookman, Ethan Brookman, Tyler Brookman, sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Don Branscome, as well as many special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Kingrea officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until service time at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
