Brookman, Dorothy Cox

Dorothy Cox Brookman, 68, of Austinville, (Wythe Co.) died Friday, July 12, 2013, at her home. She was born in Pulaski, Va. on January 26, 1945 and she was the daughter of the late Garver Cox and Elsie Waller Cox. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Puckett and by five brothers, Clayton, Thurman, Howard, Marvin, and Elwood Cox.

She was a member of the New River Valley Baptist Church, Pulaski. Surviving are her husband, B.K. Brookman, Austinville; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Nancy and Roger Altizer, Pulaski, Teresa Jones, Pulaski; many special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. Jeff Aikens officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornspring Cemetery, Pulaski Co. Visiting will be Tuesday from the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
