Cheryl Gay Brookman, 43, of Belspring Road, Radford, died Monday, September 25, 2006, at Montgomery Regional Hospital following a long battle with breast cancer.

She was born in Radford, Virginia on April 8, 1963. She is survived by her father and mother, Roy T. and Eva Mae Hughett Brookman of Belspring Road, Radford; two sisters and brother-in-law, Cindy and Gary Elliott of Blacksburg, Jeannie Sue Brookman of Hillsville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Stevie and Julie Brookman, and Tommy and Ginny Brookman, all of Belspring Road, Radford; one niece, Haley Brookman; two nephews, Tyler and Ethan Brookman; aunts and uncles, Howard and Lorraine Shrewsbury, Don and Barbara Branscome, Dallas Giles, Naomie Edwards; Mildred Sexton; many cousins and one special cousin, Missy Pannell; and many special friends and co-workers.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Montgomery Regional Hospital, and to Dr. Harry McCoy, Dr. Philip Grubb, Dr. David Stoeckle, Dr. Robert Stockburger, Dr. John White, and their staffs.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at 1 p.m. in the Harbor of Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Richard Kingrea, the Rev. Leon Alley and Mr. Ron Caudill officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Friends may call anytime after 5 p.m. at the Harbor of Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2720 Roanoke Street, Christiansburg, Va., and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Harbor of Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church.
