Milton W. Brockmeyer, D.D.S., 95, of Pulaski, Va., passed away early on Wednesday morning, December 8, 2010, in the Lewis Gale Pulaski Hospital. Born in Milwaukee, Wis., on September 25, 1915, he was the son of the late Walter and Marie Brockmeyer. The family moved to Pulaski, Va., in 1931. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Elva Ryan Brockmeyer; his twin sister, Mildred B. Aust; and daughter-in-law, Carol Hall Brockmeyer. He was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church serving as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and on many committees through the years. He was a veteran of the Navy during World War II and was an active member of the Lions Club, the American Legion and the VFW. He is survived by three children, Dianne Brockmeyer, of Richmond, Va., Carolyn B. and Dennis Willaman, of Holland, Mich., and Walter R. Brockmeyer, of Pulaski; grandchildren, Ryan Brockmeyer and fiancĂ©e, Sarah Shepherd, Adam and Jessie Brockmeyer and Elizabeth W. and Joseph Horn; great-grandchildren, Maggie and Grayson Brockmeyer; nephews, Milton and Brenda Aust, Myron and Dianne Aust, and Thomas and Sue Stone Jr.; and nieces, Susan R. and Jeff Bain, and Martha F. and Tommy Wilson. Special mention goes to his devoted “adopted” son, Buddy Rice. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, December 13, 2010, from the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Pastor Terrie Sternberg officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visiting will be held Sunday evening, December 12, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home.
