Bremer, Betty Ann

Betty Ann Bremer, 63, of Pembroke, departed this life Thursday afternoon, August 22, 2013, at her home in the loving care of her family and hospice. Born in Pearisburg, on March 30, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Hazel Sanders Hilton. Betty was a 1968 graduate of Giles High School, and retired as a teller for Celco Federal Credit Union. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, “Bud” Ernest L. Hilton; and her sister, Ethel Irene Hilton. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Steve Bremer; her daughters, Cindy Darlene Smith and her husband, Timmy, of Newport and Crystal Marlene Hobbs, of Radford; her grandchildren, Zachary Smith, Jacob Hobbs, Santana Hobbs, and Tiffany Smith; her brother, James Courtland Hilton, of Danville; her sisters, Mary Arabelle Goodwin, of Christiansburg and Ruth Naomi Carbaugh, of Narrows; her special friend, Lahoma Meredith; and faithful friend, Scooter. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow Street, Pembroke with Pastor Gary Poff and Pastor Merle Hedrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Fillinger Cemetery at Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the service.
