Cecil C. (Juicy) Breedlove, 82, of Pulaski, Va., died early Tuesday evening, November 6, 2007 in Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.

He was born on October 31, 1925 in Pulaski and was the son of the late Virginia Price Breedlove and Wade Cecil Breedlove. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. He is a life-long member of the First Church of the Brethren.

Juicy was known to all of Pulaski as a long-time barber at Juicy’s Barber Shop on Main Street in Pulaski for almost 50 years, and was a member of the American Legion Post #7, a member of the Pulaski Moose Lodge, which incidentally was formed in the back room of his barber shop many years ago, and was a member of the AM VETS in Pulaski.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, George Price Breedlove, Wade Edgar Breedlove, James Richard Breedlove, and Walden Douglas Breedlove. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Pauline Melton Breedlove of Dublin; one daughter, Linda Sutherland and her husband, Steve, of Pulaski, one sister, Tharon R.A. Valentino of Sanford, N.C.; brother-in-law, Robert Melton and his wife, Becky, of Pulaski; sister-in-law, Grace Melton of Pulaski; and a sister-in-law, Ruth R. Breedlove of Pulaski; several nieces and nephews including a very special nephew, Donald Wayne Breedlove of Pulaski; and additionally Holly King and her daughters, Megan and Jordan Price of Pulaski, his “granddaughters at heart;” and a very special greatnephew, Scott Thornton and his wife, Windy, of Pulaski.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons. Interment will follow in Thornspring Cemetery. Visiting will be Friday at the funeral home from 12 noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the VFW Post #1184, Pulaski, Va. 24301 or to the Altzheimers Association.
