Branson, Marvin Earl
Marvin Earl Branson, age 64 of Winston Salem, NC formerly of Pulaski peacefully departed this world Wednesday, February 7, 2007 to be with his Lord & Savior. Born November 2, 1942 in Pulaski he was the son of the late Chester Cecil & Lillie Crowson Branson. One brother, Alvin Lewis Branson also preceded him in death.
Marvin was a 1964 graduate of Pulaski High School. In 1967 in enlisted in the United States Army where he became a war hero, earning two Purple Hearts, the Gallantry Cross, and the Silver Star as a medic specialist in the Vietnam War. His career in the military exemplified his personality. He was a loving husband of 37 years and father of two sons.
Surviving is his wife of 37 years, Dreama Dawn Branson of Winston-Salem, NC, sons, Brian Alan Branson of Winston-Salem, NC and Eric Shawn Branson of Winston-Salem, NC, brothers, Chester Lee Branson of Pulaski and Clyde Eugene Branson of Pulaski, sisters, Doris Branson Dickerson of Radford and Brenda Branson-Mabry of Dublin.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the First Church of God, Dublin with the Rev. David Mumpower officiating. Interment will follow at the Thornspring United Methodist Cemetery Pulaski where the V.F.W. Post #1184 will conduct full military honors.
