Branscome, Emily Bandy

Emily Juanita Bandy Branscome, 86, of Pulaski, Va., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2008. She was a resident of Highland Ridge Nursing Home in Dublin.

She was born on February 7, 1922, in Pulaski and she was the daughter of the late Clarence B. and Margaret Spence Bandy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Wilson Branscome.

She is survived by nieces and cousins. Also surviving is a special great-nephew, Jeffery Gibbs; and stepchildren, Stanley Branscome, Elizabeth Gallimore, and Brenda Thomas.

Emily was a friend to everyone she met. She was an avid gardener and quitter and was an avid reader. She was a good Christian and was a member of the Pulaski Family Worship Center.

Funeral service will be held 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2008, from Stevens Funeral Chapel. Visiting will be held on Thursday evening from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour. She will be buried beside her husband in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.
