Beverly Mae (Raymond) Bradley, 95 of Shawsville passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, 19 August, surrounded by her loved ones. Beverly, born 24 April, 1927 in West Peru, Maine, was the third of 11 children.

After graduating from South Royalton High School she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Bradley in Vermont in 1947. Starting their family in Norwich, Vermont, they moved their home to Southwick, Massachusetts for about 20 years, and then Connecticut for some 12 years., After raising her rambunctious family of seven boys Bev and Bob retired in the mountains of Shawsville, Virginia.

A devoted Christian and matriarch, Beverly drew on her faith to guide her family. An active member of Park United Methodist Church, Beverly taught Sunday school and could always be found volunteering at social events, potluck dinners and organizing the Sunshine Club for neighborhood children.

Loved ones remember Beverly as someone who enjoyed reading, gardening, baking, traveling in her RV, and who remembered her trip to Israel fondly. She always cherished time spent with her many grandchildren, great grand children and great great grandchildren and felt blessed with them. Her warm, sweet soul never met a stranger, making friends wherever she went. She was a devoted member of the United Methodist Women for many years and often traveled for retreats and meetings.

Beverly is preceded in death by her beloved husband Bob, and her sons Dennis Dale Bradley and Robert Bradley Jr. She is survived by her sisters Rita Brown, Sandra Hatt, both from Maine and Colleen Watkins from Florida, sons Gary, David, James, Douglas, Ricky and Timothy, step daughter Lannie Edson of Woodstock Vt., 28 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Park United Methodist Church, 306 Park Street, Christiansburg, Virginia 24073.
