Bowles, Earl Forest (Shorty)

Earl Forest (Shorty) Bowles, 71, of Elliston, Va., died on Friday, February 11, 2011, at his home. He was born in Montgomery County, Va., on May 30, 1939, to the late Mark Harrison and Elsie Linkous Bowles. He was a long time member of Gateway Baptist Church. He was also retired from Electro Tec. He is survived by his sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Ray Epperly, of Shawsville, and Evelyn B. Echols, of Elliston; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy J. and Hogie Bowles, of Dublin, and Minor H. and Hazel Bowles, of Pearisburg; and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral Services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, 2011, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dewey O. Weaver Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Echols Cemetery, Ironto. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday evening, February 12, 2011, at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg, Va., 540-552-3211.
