Larry Ray Bowers, 64, of Rich Creek, VA went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 27, 2019. Larry was born on March 8, 1955 in Pearisburg and was a son of Shirley Ann Robertson Bowers of Narrows and the late Clarence Walton Bowers.

Larry was a 1973 graduate of Narrows High School Greenwave, a retired employee of Appalachian Power Co. in Glen Lyn, and a longtime member and deacon of the Glen Lyn Church of Christ. Larry and Lea Beth directed the Hands For God puppet ministry for 29 years. Larry enjoyed the outdoors, walking, sports, music and spending time with his family.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lea Beth Fraley Bowers of Rich Creek, one son, Jeffrey Todd Bowers (Jessica) of Booneville, NC, one daughter, Lisa Marie B. White (Kevin) of Pearisburg, one sister, Deedee Harless (Jay) of Rich Creek, eight grandchildren, Tyler, Ally, Blake, Adaline, Bennett, Emilie, Jude, Jonah and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 12pm at the Glen Lyn Church of Christ with Mike Lynn officiating. The family will receive friends at the church two hours before the service from 10am – 12pm. Flowers can be sent to the church or memorial donations may be made to the Glen Lyn Church of Christ.
