Glada Hale Bowers, 91, of Roanoke, formerly of Floyd, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2006. She was one of sixteen children born to the late George W. and Emma Hale and was the wife of the late Doris L. Bowers, Sr. Glada will be remembered for her kindness toward other people and her talents as a homemaker-quilting, sewing, cooking and gardening.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, D. L. (Larry) Jr. and Shirley Bowers, Roanoke; two daughters and sons-in-law, Glada Mae and Michael Lazzuri, Roanoke, Brenda and Chuck Casper, Philadelphia, Pa.; grandchildren, Revonda Stordahl, Rhonda Falcon, Stacey Ripple, Chris Lazzuri, Brian Lazzuri, Dana Lazzuri, Timothy Casper, Jonathan Casper; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Ilene Clifton, Meadows of Dan; brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Pauline Hale, Roanoke.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2006 at Gardner Funeral Home with Elder Hale Terry and Elder Allen Terry officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Saturday at Gardner Funeral Home where the family will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd.
