Bower, Nina Sisson

Nina Frances Sisson Bower, 95, of Floyd, departed this life on Sunday, November 29, 2009. Preceding her in death was her husband, Irvin Bower; her parents, James and Lula Lawrence Sisson; her brother, Cleatis Sisson; her sister, Emma Brown; and two infant siblings.

Surviving are her son and wife, Arnold and Vernie Bower; her daughter and husband, Frances and Junior Poff; three grandchildren, Douglas Poff, Shelia Spates and husband, David, and Cathy Bower; two special great-grandchildren, Anna and Phillip Spates.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Bradley officiating. Interment will follow at Red Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday after 1 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home where the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m.

The family expresses a special thanks to the staff and nurses at Skyline Manor Nursing Home for all of their love and care.
