Bower, Lyndell Weddle
Lyndell Weddle Bower, 73 of Floyd, went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.
Lyndell was one of the best seamstress’ around. She was lovingly known as “Nanny”, not only to her own grandchildren and great grandchildren but also to several children she babysat in which she referred to them as her babies.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Kelcie Waldon Bower, Jr.; children and their spouses, Eddie Bower and Delores, and Donna Toler and Richard; grandchildren, Adam Toler, Kelsei Barker and Michael, Rachel Toler, Maggie Bower; great grandchildren, Bradley and Wyatt Barker; sisters and their spouses, Hilda and Kenneth Belcher, Delphia Sutphin, Janet and Russell Hylton; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating. The interment will follow at the Jacksonville cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Maberry Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Medical Charities of Floyd County, VA. Inc., 100 East Main Street, Room 108, Floyd, VA 24091.
The family would like to thank The Blue Ridge Cancer Center, Dr. McCoy and Staff, and The Radford Health and Rehab and Staff for their excellent care.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Lyndell was one of the nicest people I ever worked with. We also went to Princess House meetings together. Such a sweet lady. My prayers are with the family at this time of loss.

Kelci and family, we are sorry to hear about your loss of your wife, mother, grandmother, sister and great-grandmother. You have our heartfelt sympathy. I know she was a wonderful person. I met her several times and she was always such a friendly and sweet lady. She was so dedicated to her family.

So very sorry. Such a very special lady. You could always count on her to tell you the truth. Worked with her many years and called her friend. She altered my wedding dress and was such an excellent seamstress. You will be missed Lyndall. Thoughts and prayers for Kelsie and the entire family.
