Bower, Annie Mae Lester

Annie Mae Lester Bower, 91, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 4, 2012. Preceding her in death was her loving husband, George Junior Bower; her parents, John Francis Lester and Ella Mae Lester, of Copper Valley; two sisters, Lela Marshall and Ruby Harris, both of Radford; and four brothers, Davis Lester, Ray Lester, and Elvin Lester, of Christiansburg and Dempsey Lester, of Charleston, S.C. Surviving are two sisters, Ada Altizer (Aaron), of Alum Ridge and Gay Royal of Christiansburg. The family invites those who knew Annie to celebrate her entrance into eternal life with visitation at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2012, at the Christiansburg Church of the Brethren followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. officiated by Reverend Donald Peters and the Reverend Arnold Naff. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christiansburg Church of the Brethren, P.O. Box 5030, Christiansburg, VA 24068. Special thanks are extended to her dear friend, Mary Propst, and to her church family. Also, thanks for the care and compassion provided by Lewis-Gale Montgomery Hospital 4th floor staff, ICU and PCU, Radford Health and Rehab Services, and Good Samaritan Hospice.
