bourne norma lou cyphersNorma Lou Bourne, 74, of Dublin, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. She was born in Bradshaw, W.Va., on December 10, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Ermine and Kat Cyphers. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert “Bob” Bourne, of Dublin; and her eldest son, Michael Eugene Bourne, of Christiansburg. Mrs. Bourne graduated from Iaeger High School in the Class of 1955, and attended NRCC. She was a volunteer for Daily Bread in Pulaski, and the American Red Cross Blood Drives. She was retired from Pulaski Furniture Corp. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert “Robbie” and Tina Bourne, Fairlawn; daughter-in-law, Dianne M. Bourne, Christiansburg; brother and sister-in-law, James E. and Linda Cyphers, Chesapeake; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bourne, Forest; grandsons, Kristopher Shelor-Bourne, Joshua Bourne, and Jacob Bourne; stepgrandchildren and spouses, Jeff and Vicki Wall, Kristi and Mike Snyder; five stepgreat-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and special life-long friend, Sara Lee Hanks. The family will receive friends at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, on Sunday, April 8, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of her Life will be held at Mountain View Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012, with the Rev. Paul Gorsham officiating. The interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Garden, Princeton, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, to honor Norma, the family asks that donations be made to the Mountain View United Methodist Church, 6648 Wilderness Rd., Dublin, VA 24084.
