Bostwick, Barbara Jean

Barbara Jean Bostwick of Christiansburg passed away peacefully Monday, November 23, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Jackson Bostwick, Jr.; father, Samuel Brumfield; mother, Roxie Brumfield Troutt; and two sisters, Maxine Graham and Jenny Stansbury.

She is survived by sister, Colleen Hall; two sons, Samuel Jackson Bostwick and Michael Scott Bostwick (Pamela); five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; as well as a special friend for nine years that never left her side, Jim Williams.

Barbara worked for Montgomery County Schools as a cafeteria manager where she made special treats for teachers and made sure no child attended school hungry, often paying for meals out of her own pocket.

The family would like to thank the nurses at Lewis Gale Hospital (Salem) for making her last days comfortable and showing so much kindness to our family. Although we grieve and will miss our mother forever, we rejoice in knowing she is in heaven enjoying the beauty where all things are new.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 29, 2020, from 3-5 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home with the Funeral Services to follow at 5 p.m. in the Chapel. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, November 30, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
