Paul Daniel (PD) Bostic, Sr., peacefully, at his home in Ripplemead, and in the loving care of his family, departed this life Saturday morning November 4, 2006.

Born in Waiteville, W.Va. on October 13, 1926, he was a son of the late George Andrew and Fleta Faye Harless Bostic. “PD” was a graduate of Pearisburg High School, was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corps, WW II, and had operated Edgewood Auto Parts in Ripplemead for the last fifty-five years with the devoted help of his wife Eileen, and was a member of VFW Post 6000 in Narrows.

He was preceded in death by his sons Paul Daniel Bostic, Jr. and Tommy Bostic, his parents, five sisters Mary, LeNora, Lucille, Pauline, and Orthana, his brothers William and Arnold. He leaves to cherish his memory his faithful wife, Eileen Shambrook Bostic; a son, James Randle Bostic of Roanoke; his brother and sister-in-law Bobby and Jean Bostic of Ripplemead; stepdaughters, Gerry Gray of Dallas, Texas, Alana Adams of Bedford, Va., Becky Craft of Roanoke, Va.; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; his dear friends and “son” Gary, Rhonda, Chad, and Heather Tickle and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
