Garland Hampton Boothe, age 89 of 3557 Dallas Freeman Road, Hiwassee (Snowville Community) passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at the Highland Ridge Rehab Center, Dublin.

Born May 14, 1916 in Pulaski County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Monte Z. Boothe and Mary Nora Owens Boothe. He was also preceded in death by two infant children; three brothers, Archie, Lewis and Ray Boothe; twin sisters, Virgie and Nellie Boothe and sister, Mary Emma Crews; and son-in-law, Hubert Phillips.

He was retired from Federal Mogul in Blacksburg with 11 years of service. He also had worked with Jefferson Mills for many years.

Surviving are: his wife of sixty- four years, Gertrude D. Holiday Boothe, Hiwassee; sons, Junior Boothe and wife, Diane, Christiansburg, Gernie Boothe, Hiwassee; daughters, Bonnie Phillips, Hiwassee, Linda Lester and husband, Farley, Hiwassee; nine grandchildren, Bobby Boothe, Susan Viars, Connie Viar, Tina Boothe, Karen Porter, Gernie “G-Bo” Boothe, Timmy Phillips, Ewell Lester, and Teresa Cuniford; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Beulah Owens, Snowville Community, Ruby Meredith, Paxton, Ill.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday 2 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Rev. Jim Linkous officiating. Interment will follow at Dishon Cemetery, Snowville Community.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski.
