booth thelma aliceThelma Alice Booth, 88, of Pearisburg, departed this life for her heavenly home Tuesday morning, July 9, 2013, at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, after a long illness. Born in Tazewell on September 23, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Marty Lawson Crabtree.

She spent her adult life in the most noble of callings as a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and spiritual matriarch of her family. “Rabbit” as she was lovingly known loved worshiping with her church family at Pembroke First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, H. P. Crabtree Jr. and Bill Crabtree; and her sisters, Edith Johnston and Margarett Leech. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 67 years, Kenneth E. Booth; her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth E. Jr. and Sharon Booth, of Land 0 Lakes, Fla.; her daughter and son-in-law, Dreama B. and Curtis Williams, of Pembroke; her beloved grandchildren, Emily Walker, of Christiansburg, Ben Williams, of Kimballton, Christie Bingnam, of Pulaski, Brooke Corkhill, of Stephens City, Morgan Booth, of Pensacola, Fla.; her eleven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Naomi C. Morris, of North Carolina. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, in the Pembroke United Methodist Church with Pastor Dan Elmore and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the church from noon until 2 p.m. before the services.
