Monna Hall Booth, 74, of Riner, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014. She was a cosmetology teacher at Blacksburg High School and upon retirement began working in the VA Tech ticket office. She was an avid VT fan and Hokie Rep.

She was preceded in death by her husband John H. Booth, Jr. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Joy Webb of Radford; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah ad Sean Sweeney of Durham, NC; granddaughter, Jessica Stuart and her husband Nathan of Lexington, KY; grandson, Patrick Webb of Radford; great-grandchildren, Kerington and Kristin Stuart; and sister Carla Knox of Crestline, OH.

A final tailgate to celebrate Monna’s life will be held Friday, January 24, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the South End Zone West Club. The entrance is at Gate 2 of the VA Tech Football Stadium.

In honor of her desire to continue teaching, Monna requested her body be donated to science. Therefore in lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Good Samaritan Hospice or a charitable organization of your choice.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Radford Health and Rehab Center for the tender care shown during Monna’s final days.
