Boone, Winnie (Kate) Hylton

Winnie (Kate) Hylton Boone, 83, of Willis, Va., went to be with her Lord on November 21, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, WJ Boone.

She is survived by sons, Joe and wife, Ann, of Reidsville, N.C. and Tim and wife, Christi, of Willis, Va. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Wynn Boone, Deanna Johnston and husband, Jonathan, Brittney Boone and Chelsey Boone; and three greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Pauleda Hylton Dunn, of Staunton, Va.

A charter member of Blue Ridge Primitive Baptist Church, Kate spent the last year of her life as a resident of Skyline Manor Nursing Home. Devoted to the Lord, she affected the lives of others as a substitute teacher, a fun-loving friend and a hard-working farmer’s wife, giving sacrificially to her family, especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at the Blue Ridge Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Tim Witten, Elder Terry Wilson and Elder Lewis Vass officiating. Interment will follow in the Blue Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 23, 2009, at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel.
