Boone, Shirley Collins

Shirley Collins Boone, 74, of Elliston, died on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Skyline Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Salem, Va., on June 25, 1936, to the late Arb and Myrtle Hall Collins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Quentin Boone; and a son, James Charles (Chuck) Boone.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Collins, of Shawsville; sons, Daniel Boone, of Elliston, Robert Thomas Boone, of Floyd, Samuel and Wanda Boone, of Salem, and Kenneth Ray Boone, of Christiansburg; a sister, Helen Thornehill, of Roanoke; numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Patricia King and Patricia Lovern.

Funeral Services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011, in the Mountain Top Mission Church with the Rev. Virgil McHone and the Rev. Richard Kingera officiating. Interment will follow in the Boone Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening, March 4, 2011, at the Mountain Top Mission Church.
