Bonds, Bonnie Bass

Bonnie Darlene Bonds, age 73, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born August 27, 1947, in Richmond, VA, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Mary Lucille Strickland Bass.

Bonnie was a homemaker and a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a master seamstress who enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Also, she enjoyed gardening and cooking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Stanley Carter Bonds; one son, Stanley Carter Bonds, II and Mitzi French of Lindside, WV; two daughters, Kimberly Bonds Woodard and husband John of Bozoo, WV, and Staci Bonds of Peterstown, WV; one brother, Raymond Bass and wife Betty of Snow Creek, VA; five grandchildren, Shauna, Gregory, Carter, Justin, and Dustin; and three great grandchildren, Isabella, Sadie, and Sydney.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, December 6, 2020, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Andy Howdock officiating. Burial will follow at the Red Sulphur Springs Community Church Cemetery in Red Sulphur Springs, WV. Visitation will be from 1:00PM until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home. Gregory Woodard, Carter Bonds, Justin Woodard, Dustin Bonds, Josh Hampton, and Chris Chambers will serve as pallbearers.

Due to the regulations associated with COVID-19 and the WV Governor’s Mandate, those attending the visitation and funeral services shall wear a mask and practice social distancing.
