Bond, Evelyn Boone

Evelyn Boone Bond, born August 22, 1926, went to be with Jesus on January 4, 2022. At the blessed age of 95 she had a peaceful “Home Going” and is now with her precious Lord that she served for many years.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Melvin Boone and wife, Judy of Shawsville; daughter, Rev. Lorine (Renee) Boone Kingrea and husband, Rev. Richard Kingrea of Christiansburg; brother, Wilton Argabright and wife, Dedra; sister, Roberta Hurst and husband, Sam all of Shawsville; step-children, Julian Bond of Christiansburg, Brenda Nester of Roanoke, Debra Bond and husband, Bill of Dublin, Jennifer Gardner and husband, Allen of Dugspur; grandchildren, Melissa Gilmore and husband, Darrell, Steven Kingrea and wife, Megan, Tommy Kingrea and wife, Sherry. Evelyn is also survived by her step-grandchildren, Heather Turman, Joshua Bond, Amy Nester, Sharon McDougal, Andrew Gardner; 10 great-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; as well as 4 step-great-great-grandchildren.

We want to thank everyone who helped with her care while she was at the Radford Health and Rehab Center, especially Carilion Hospice. We cannot thank them enough for their perfectional service and care.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 11 a.m. to noon at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at noon in the Chapel, with Rev. Richard Kingrea, Rev. Craig Reed, and Rev Wes Conner officiating. All of these ministers were her pastors at different times. Family only interment will follow at the Shawsville Congregational Holiness Cemetery.
