Bond, Doris Shira

Doris Shira Bond, 95, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2007, in Blacksburg, VA. She was preceded in death her husband of 73 years, Edwin John Bond.

She was a native of Salem, WV, and a resident of Williamsburg, VA, for the past 40 years. She graduated with an A.B. degree from Salem College in 1933. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church, Salem College Auxiliary, Salem Woman’s Club and past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star.

Surviving members of her family include her sons, Edwin John Bond Jr. and wife Sandra of Wicomico Church, VA, and Samuel S. Bond and wife Janet of Morgantown, WV; daughters, Doris Ann Riese and husband Robert of Franklin, NC, and Margaret Bond-Poole and husband Travis of Blacksburg, VA; nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at a later date in Salem, WV.
