Harold Waller Bolt, 82, of Newbern Heights, Pulaski, Va., died Thursday morning, December 30, 2010. He was born March 30, 1928, in Sylvatus, Va., and was the son of the late Hiram Waller Bolt and Elizabeth Ida Bolt.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Rita Lovern Martin Bolt; brothers, French Edward Bolt and Edwin Elwood Bolt; paternal grandparents, Jesse Lee Bolt and Lucy Dickerson Bolt; maternal grandparents, Henry Gates and Susan Gates.

Harold graduated from Sylvatus High School in 1945 and from Roanoke College in 1949 where he earned a bachelor of science in economics, and lettered in varsity baseball and soccer. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1950-1954. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1993. Prior to that, Harold worked for H.W. Bolt Co., Burlington Industries and New York Life.

Surviving are a sister, Clara Mae Bolt Quesenberry, of Kingsport, Tenn.; sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Andrea Martin, of Fincastle, Va., and Jack and Teresa Martin, of Draper, Va.; grandchildren, Beth (Justin) Finch, of Midlothian, Va., Patrick (Angela) Martin, of Salem, Va., Kara Nicole Martin, of Christiansburg, Va., Trevor Graham Martin, Mary Catherine Martin and Rachel Caroline Martin, all of Draper; great-grandchildren, Hailey Elaine Martin, Hunter Sean Martin, Ella Elizabeth Finch and Levi Taylor Finch; niece, Sharon Flowers, of Greenville, Ga.; nephews, Richard Quesenberry, of Manchester, Ga. and French Bolt II (Carolyn), of Gastonia, N.C., and many more nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Worrell, of Draper; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elaine and Marvin Moles Jr., of Pulaski, Kip and Kathy Worrell, of Morristown, Tenn., Betsy and Larry Burton, of Pulaski, Mike and Linda Williams, of Draper, David Worrell, of Draper, and Donna Worrell Conklin, of Snowville, Va.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011, at Seagle Funeral Home, Pulaski with the Rev. Tom Mills officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Christian Church Cemetery, Draper. Visitation will precede the service at 12:30 p.m.
