Bolt, Ethel McPeak Thompson

Ethel McPeak Thompson Bolt, 88, of Willis, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012. She was a member of the first graduating class at Willis High School. She was in charge of gas rationing at Norfolk Naval Base during World War II. As an avid motorcycle rider, she was a charter member of the Motor Maids Motorcycle Club. Mrs. Bolt was a longtime member of Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church and Buffalo Mountain Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, William D. (Tommy) Thompson Sr. and Truman Bolt Sr. She is survived by two sons, Doug Thompson and wife, Amy; Kendall K. Bolt; one stepson, Truman C. Bolt Jr. and wife, Akia; one daughter, Vickie Bryant; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012, at Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jeff Dalton officiating.
