Bolden, Clarence R.
Clarence Raleigh (Money, Peanut) Bolden , 78, of Pulaski, quietly slipped into eternal rest on Saturday, October 3, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Clarence was born in Roanoke on September 10, 1937 to the late Roy Stanfield and Sarah Bolden.
He attended Lucy Addison High School. He was very active with St. John Masonic Lodge #35 of Christiansburg, Va. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Allen and Raymond Perry; his beloved wife, Alberta Meadows Bolden and an infant grandson. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Pulaski and a retiree of Lynchburg Foundry.
He is survived by his children, Melissa “Lisa” Bolden, Clarence Maurice “Reece” and Gilbert T. Meadows (Phyllis) who he raised as a son; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; an aunt, Myrtle Phandleson; an a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at the First Baptist Church Magazine Street, Pulaski. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Serenity 248 Randolph Ave. for viewing. Interment will be held at Pinehurst Cemetery. Arrangements by Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
