boitnott_gene_baylis_sr.jpgGene Baylis Boitnott, Sr., 78, of Radford, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a master machinist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Cline and Nell Bates Boitnott and two brothers, Charles Cline and Don W. Boitnott. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Doris DeHart Boitnott, of Radford; a son and daughter-in-law, Gene B. Jr. and Mary Beth Boitnott, of Dublin; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra B. and Joseph Jarvis, of Powhatan and Elizabeth B. and Stephen M. Gaudin, of Centreville; five grandchildren, Nicholas and Lucas Boitnott, Kaitlyn and Jordyn Jarvis, and Emilie Gaudin; a sister and brother-in-law, Sue B. and Terry Roseberry, of Dublin; and a sister-in-law, Judith H. Boitnott.

A celebration of Gene’s life will be held Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 3 p.m. at the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Terry Woodard officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m.
