Ruth Guthrie Blevins (17 Nov, 1930 – 21 Jan, 2022). After 91 years in her beloved Giles Co, she passed away peacefully, of natural causes. She accomplished a lot during her lifetime. She loved to travel and visited a dozen different foreign countries; making friends all along the way.

She was always active in her church and even at age 90 still played the piano for Ripplemead’s Edgewood Methodist Church. She was a member of the Giles County Historical Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and routinely did ancestral/historical research for individuals all around the country. She always looked forward to planning annual High School and family reunions.

The daughter of William A. and Mary H. Guthrie, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband of over 60 years, Carlton A. (Bill) Blevins. She is survived by children Barbara (Don) Clark, Gary (Susan) Blevins, and Greg Blevins, as well as granddaughter Sarah Aardema and great grandson Tripp Aardema. Ruth is also survived by her siblings Alan (Thez) Guthrie, Betsy Newberry, Norma (Allen) Newberry, and Barry Guthrie. She will be greatly missed by all, to include a friendly little backyard squirrel whom she fondly named Fannie Mae.
