amem_xmas.jpgStella Irene Blankenship, age 79, of Pulaski died peacefully at her home Monday morning, December 7, 2015. She was born on May 12, 1936 in Pulaski, and was the daughter of the late Mildred Sayers Bevil and Roy Bevil. Mrs. Blankenship was a proud member of the Faith Bible Church in Pulaski.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James Kelly (Bud) Blankenship, Jr. and a brother, Herman Lester Bevil, along with three sisters; Edna Isbill, Christine Byrd, and Ann Reece. She is survived by four sons; James Kelly Blankenship, III of Pulaski, Jeffrey Clyde Blankenship of Pulaski, John G. Blankenship and wife Leigh of Forest, VA, and Joe K. Blankenship and wife Kelly of Dublin: Daughter, Judy Kay Edwards and her husband Jimmy of Pulaski, and a daughter Linda Turman and her husband David of Ohio: one brother; James Roy Bevil of Dublin: sisters; Barbara Cook of Wirtz, Va, Jean Caravas of Portsmouth, VA. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Faith Bible Church with the Rev. Jim Linkous officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the Faith Bible Church from 6 until 8 p.m.
