Mildred G. Blankenship, 85, of Shawsville, was born on July 18, 1925, and passed away quietly on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.H. Blankenship; and her son, Woody Blankenship. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy and husband, Marvin Parker; son, Clyde and wife, Elsie Blankenship; four special grandsons, Bruce Robertson, Tony Neece, and Mark and David Blankenship; 11 greatgrandchildren; nine greatgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Claudine Turpin. She loved being a prankster and watching things grow, from her family to her garden. She was always faithful in her love of the Lord. We know she walks in His garden now. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. I love you Gran! The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2011, at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Collins officiating.
