BLANKENSHIP, Margaret Lindamood

Margaret Lindamood Blankenship, 70 of Narrows went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 18th, 2006 at her home, surrounded by her children.

She was born in Smyth County on August 8th, 1935 and was the daughter of the late William and Florene Spence Dillow Lindamood. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Arvin Eugene Blankenship; a grandson, T.J. Vaughn; and two sisters, Barbara Ann Lindamood and Annette Kidd.

She was a member of Round Bottom United Methodist Church, and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished her family.

She is survived by four daughters, Karen Conley and husband James of Narrows; Cheryl Dykes and husband Jeff of Bastian; Pam Willis of Rich Creek; Anita Dunnack of Bastian; three sons, Arvin Eugene (Gene) Blankenship, Jr. of Narrows; Jeffrey Todd Blankenship and wife Amy of Wytheville; Brian Scott Blankenship and wife Samantha of Narrows; one brother, Sammy Lindamood and wife Joyce of Ceres; two sisters, Marietta Looney and husband Otho, and Helen Carter, all of Bastian; 16 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and three special friends, Sissy Dykes of Bastian, Lorraine Wolfe of Narrows, and Lynne Conley of Bland.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 21st, 2006 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Rev. Donnie Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Shrader Cemetery at Niday in Bland County. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Thursday from 6-8 PM.
