Blankenship, Harry Wilson

Harry Wilson Blankenship, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at his home in Bozoo, WV. Born April 22, 1933, in Narrows, VA, he was the son of the late Bernard and Magdalene Blankenship.

Harry worked as a brick mason for 42 years. Additionally, he enjoyed woodworking and working on old cars. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Blanche McClaugherty Blankenship; two sons, Harry Wayne Blankenship of Henrico, VA, and Nickey Ray Blankenship and wife Tanya of Radford, VA; one daughter, Deresa Sue Hill and husband Dewey of Peterstown, WV; one brother, Phillip Blankenship and wife Donna of VA; four sisters, Charlotte Compton, Shelby King, and Dorothy Towler, all of VA, and Carol Fergusson of TX; three grandchildren, Jason Hill and wife Amanda, Stephanie Lilly and husband Heath, and Kevin Blankenship; six great grandchildren, Trinity and Eden Hill, and Jude, Kase, Noel, and Graham Lilly.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 8, 2019, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Minister Donald Henegar officiating. Burial will follow at Peterstown Cemetery in Giles County, VA, with Wayne and Nickey Blankenship, Dewey and Jason Hill, Heath Lilly, and Brian Ferguson serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at the funeral home.
