Blankenship, Geneva Hill

Geneva Miriam Blankenship, of the Clendennin Community in Narrows, VA departed this life, entering into the presence of her Lord August 26, 2020. Born November 18, 1928 in Pipestem, WV she was a daughter of William and Naomi Hill.

Geneva spent her life quietly and humbly serving her Lord and community. She would often be the first to a neighbor’s house to serve by cleaning or cooking in times of distress, often traveling by foot. For at least 20 years she served as the custodian of Bethel Chapel in Clendennin, where she was also a faithful member.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Roy; a son, Monroe Blankenship; and several brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons and their families, Daniel “Boone” Blankenship and his wife Janet, Doug Blankenship and his wife, Royann, and Willard Blankenship; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and the family of faith at Bethel Chapel.

There will be a Homegoing Service, in Bethel Chapel on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Family will receive friends at Bethel Chapel on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 12:00-2:00 PM.
