Carol Jean Brumfield Blankenship, 55, of Beckner Road in Pearisburg, departed this life Tuesday morning, April 11, 2006 at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg.

Born in Giles County on January 8, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Janie Brumfield. She was a 1972 graduate of Giles High School, was retired from the Celanese Celco Plant, and a member of the Glen Lyn Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her beloved and caring grandmother, Maggie Martin Brumfield; and a brother, Bobby McCraw. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Darrell A. Blankenship; four brothers, Barry McCraw of Pearisburg, Bernie and wife, Karen McCraw of Pearisburg, Billy and wife, Tammy McCraw of Dublin, and Ricky Manning of Goldbond; a sister and her husband, Ann and Curtis Stafford of Pembroke; her mother-in-law, Hilda Fletcher of Ripplemead; sisters-in-law, Donna Bratton of Ripplemead and Rhonda Quesenberry of Ripplemead; brother-in-law and his wife, Garland and Lisa Blankenship of Rich Creek; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
