Blankenship, Arnold

Arnold Blankenship, 84, of Narrows, Va., passed away peacefully at his home on Wolf Creek Friday, January 7, 2011. A lifelong resident of Giles County, Va., he was born on April 19, 1926, and was the son of the late Charles Otto and Mamie Davis Blankenship. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn Hodge Blankenship. He leaves behind his beloved horses, Dancer and Nell; and all of his barn cats. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2011, at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows with the Rev. Shirley Larson, affectionately known to Arnold as “Preacher,” officiating.
