Bland, Harvey Edward

On Friday, May, 26th, 2017, Harvey Edward Bland, 62, of Christiansburg, went to be with Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs Harvey Lee Bland, former wife, and best friend, Brenda Faye Bland.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Elicia Bland; grandchildren, Devin Barker, Montana Barker and Colton Bland all of the home. Bradley Newby whom he helped raise and considered a son; step daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Dale Davis, of Riner; step granddaughters, Amanda Davis, of Pilot, April Davis, of Johnson City, TN; brothers, Allan Bland, of Christiansburg, Phillip Bland, of Redford; aunt Louise McGuire, of Pulaski; girlfriend, Sharon Kay Ross, of Martinsville, VA; several nieces and nephews. Special friends he considered family, Brian and Dolly Adkins, of Christiansburg; Kevin Woolwine, of Plum Creek.

Harvey was a kind-hearted, loving caring man with a huge heart. He never met a stranger. He spent the last three years of his life living with his daughter and grandchildren. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Buford Links officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to McCoy Funeral Home to help offset expenses.
