blackmon susie williamsSusie Williams Hunter Blackmon, 85, of Staffordsville Area, departed this life Monday, October 15, 2012 at her home in the loving care of her family. Born in Maybrook, Giles County on November 30, 1926 she was a daughter of the late Olie Lee Sr. and Mary Ellen Bonds Williams. Susie graduated from Newport High School, she worked and retired from the Celanese Plant, and she was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and canning. She had to give up her home due to illness and had lived at Old Orchard Place until her death. She was a member of the Pearisburg Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing and she dearly loved her family. Preceding her in death were her parents and her first husband Shirley Hunter, two sisters, Maxine Hall and Alice Whitmire, four brothers, Jack, John, Everett and Marvin Williams, nephew, W.A. Williams and a niece, Pat Hall Parker. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons Michael W. Hunter of Springfield, and Deryle S. Hunter of Staffordsville; her two grandchildren; Michael Edward Hunter and his wife Sharon and their two daughters of Katilyn and Taylor of Leesburg, and Rev. Terry Allen Hunter and his wife Laura and their daughter Anna Clara of Griffin, GA; three sisters-in-law, Sylvia Williams of Newport, Georgia Williams of Maybrook and Doris Williams of Narrows. Nieces, Phyllis Fleeman, Jackie Caldwell, Betty Jo Reynolds, Jean Thomas, Kim Simmons and Karen Williams. Nephews, Roger Williams, Ronnie Williams and Marshall Williams. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel in Pembroke with Pastor Jeremy Quest officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.
