Blackburn, Violet Louise Miles

Violet Louise Miles Blackburn, age 87 of Pulaski, died Thursday morning, March 27, 2014 at the Carrington Place in Wytheville. She was born on November 11, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Ethel Whitlock Miles and Luther Miles. She was a graduate of the Pulaski High School, class of 1944, was a long-time member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, and was employed for many years as a Medical Secretary for Pulaski Community Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Allison Blackburn, who died in 1999. They were proudly married on February 12, 1953. She is survived by a son, David Allen Blackburn of Denver, Colorado; granddaughters, Emily Anne Bohn and her husband John Bohn, II of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and Jennifer Laws Larimore of Wexford, Pennsylvania, and their mother, Amy MacNeil of Wexford, Pennsylvania along with her very special friends, Stanley and Irene Frost of Pulaski. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Seagle Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time.
